Very Ape's Biography

In 199X Very Ape has organized and started
to play in Hong Kong and Asian countries.
In the beginning, the members had just played copy songs ofAlternative
rock in Japanese society. However they couldn't satisfy themselves
to play in this way. Also EX-Vocalist MASUI had to leave from Hong
Kong.So,they started to compose original songs in order to perform
in front of Hong Kong audience with new singer,URASE.
As Very Ape played at independent concert in Hong Kong,their name
had been known gradually. In 2000, they performed at Gold Coast Monmortre
Band Sound Festival.As a result they got the second prize and Mr.
Teramoto got best guitarist prize.
They have been encouraged from this stage and participated in a bunch
of Rock Festivals. Specially,they have performed 4 times at Formoz
Festival in Taiwan and played 4 times at Spring Scream since 2001.
In 2002, Hong Kong independent label Catharsis Action released the
compilation albumwtx Their song,called Terrorhythm,included in this
album and they contracted with Mark-1 Music Centre. They also have
participated in Hong Kong independent events,Rock On,in 2002 and 2003
and released their VCD and DVD. The Band was the most active time
on that occasion.
In 2004 suddenly their bassist HASA left from the Band. Mr. KOYA,who
has been playing Bass in Tommy & All Blues and Speedking and more,joined
in Very Ape as a supporting Bassist.
At last,they are back. Their music style are totally different from
ever. Even though they used to play heavy and Noise music, they think
much importance of groove now.
New Very Ape was back at Rock It 2004 on Oct 22nd . After that, Very
Ape has been acting in Hong Kong Indie live like "the Underground"
"Listen Up", and joined "Spring Scream" "Formoz
Music Festival" in Taiwan (2005). At the same time, Very Ape
started to record for the first official cd, and it was released in
JAL 2007.
@In the beginning of 2008, Teramoto and Urase left the band. After
the long rest, Very Ape restart with new members, "Asako",
"Shimoi" and "Jacky" in 2009.
